Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 27, ZF Group's Commercial Vehicle Solutions division and Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group (Farizon Auto), a subsidiary of Geely, signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Leveraging the partners’ expertise, they aim to develop globally competitive products focused on pure electric and methanol-hydrogen technologies.

In recent years, the heavy-duty truck market has accelerated the adoption of new energy solutions, driven by the industry's push towards green, low-carbon, and efficient energy use. Farizon Auto, with its focus on scenario-defined vehicles, has made significant strides in overcoming operational limitations through technological advancements. The company's new energy heavy-duty trucks have proven their economic, practical, and reliable performance across various applications.

Farizon Auto has committed to the "methanol-hydrogen + electric" technology path, developing a full-stack methanol-hydrogen electric powertrain. This approach combines the benefits of both all-electric and methanol-hydrogen heavy-duty trucks, offering an excellent driving experience and cost-effectiveness. Over the past six months, Farizon Auto’s methanol-hydrogen electric heavy-duty trucks have been delivered in bulk across multiple regions, significantly enhancing the logistics industry's productivity.

The strategic cooperation between ZF and Farizon Auto will focus on wire-controlled architecture, chassis technology, and transmission technology. As Farizon's strategic supplier for powertrains, intelligent driving systems, and core chassis components, ZF will integrate its advanced systems and solutions into Farizon's new Xinghan H heavy-duty truck platform. This collaboration is expected to further enhance the competitiveness of Farizon Auto's new energy commercial vehicle lineup, delivering greater value to users and driving industry innovation.

Toyota Motor Corporation has decided to halt the development of its next-generation battery electric vehicles, specifically targeting a sedan model for its luxury brand Lexus that was originally planned to commence production in mid-2027. This vehicle, featuring fast-charging capabilities and longer cruising range, was showcased at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2023. Initially planned for market launch in 2026, its production start was later postponed to 2027.
