National Energy Administration Targets 12 Million Charging Infrastructures by 2025, Promoting Electric Vehicle Adoption and Low-Carbon Transition

[National Energy Administration: By 2025, about 12 million charging infrastructures will be built throughout the country]

On June 20th, Zhang Jianhua, director of the National Energy Administration, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that they would coordinate energy security and low-carbon transformation, and promote high-quality energy development through cooperation on both supply and demand sides. They would also do a good job in "subtracting" carbon emissions on the consumption side. They would continue to promote the transformation and upgrading of energy use methods, deeply promote the substitution of electricity in industries such as industry, construction, transportation, and agriculture, enhance the service guarantee capabilities of electric vehicle charging, and aim to build about 12 million charging infrastructures throughout the country by 2025. Through coordinated efforts from all parties, they hope to increase the level of electrification of terminal energy use to about 30% by 2025.
