Unveiling the Cutting-Edge Agenda for E-Waste World / Battery Recycling / Metal Recycling Conference & Expos 2024

E-Waste World / Battery Recycling / Metal Recycling Conference & Expos are proud to announce the launch of their highly anticipated conference agenda, set to inspire the industry’s most influential propagators between 26 to 27 Jun 2024, at the Messe Frankfurt in Germany.

In response to current events, supply chain constraints, and growing geopolitical tensions, the shared 2024 conference agenda is inspired by a vision for sustainable resource management and the urgent need for secure supply chains in the electronics, batteries, and metals industries. With an increasing demand for the metals essential for the energy transition, there is a pressing need to strengthen closed-loop supply chains and reduce reliance on traditional mining methods. The 2024 conference aims to explore how a strong circular economy can address these challenges and foster innovation in waste management.

The four-tracks will cover a broad spectrum of crucial industry themes and topics, spanning e-waste and WEEE recycling, circular electronics, battery recycling, and metal and CRM recycling. Discussions will encompass consumer behaviour's influence on recycling enterprises, transparency and takeback initiatives, global e-waste management strategies, end-of-life photovoltaic management, and addressing WEEE plastics. Additionally, the program will explore circular design principles, product repair and reuse strategies, ESG reporting, and supply chain transparency in circular electronics. Battery recycling sessions will focus on market outlooks, second life batteries, technology advancements, and regulatory challenges, while metal and CRM recycling discussions will deliver insight into responsible recycling practices, sustainable supply chain creation, and automotive metals recycling.

The two-day conference offers a fantastic networking opportunity for industry professionals across the supply chain. Attendees will be among the first to engage in conversations about the latest industry trends, updates, and innovative solutions. With sessions covering new and emerging topics, delegates can expect to gain valuable insights and perspectives from the top of the supply chain.

This year's agenda will feature several new sessions and topics, impressing around due diligence and responsibility in metal supply chains; innovation and regulation in relation to automotive metals recycling; incentivising e-waste collection and strategies for effective PV sustainability; scalable research approaches in battery design; and the transportation and logistics challenges in battery material management; led by industry specialists from International Copper Association, Novelis Europe, TRADIUM GmbH, CEA, Veolia, Jaguar Land Rover and TES SBS.

“With geopolitical tensions growing and increasing demands for electrification and the energy transition, there is an unprecedented strain on the resources needed for these technologies. This co-located conference will explore how a strong circular economy can meet this pressure not just through the latest innovations but by exploring effective strategies and framework conditions for the whole lifecycle", said November Walker, Conference Producer.

[SMM Analysis] Terdampak oleh pasokan copper foil yang ketat dan peningkatan kapasitas sel baterai berkapasitas besar yang lebih lambat dari perkiraan, pertumbuhan produksi sel baterai penyimpanan energi di Tiongkok dan global pada bulan September diperkirakan melambat masing-masing menjadi 4,09% dan 4,25% MoM, tetapi hal ini tidak menunjukkan melemahnya permintaan pengguna akhir. Kondisi pasokan-permintaan untuk sel baterai penyimpanan energi tetap ketat, dengan harga sel baterai 314Ah bertahan stabil. Pengiriman diperkirakan akan meningkat secara stabil ke depannya, dengan harga melanjutkan tren stabil hingga lebih tinggi.

Ketua CATL Zeng Yuqun, dalam pidato video untuk Konferensi Baterai Daya Dunia 2026, mengatakan bahwa pada paruh pertama tahun ini, penjualan kendaraan energi baru (NEV) Tiongkok melampaui 7,4 juta unit, dengan lebih dari 600 model baru diluncurkan, rata-rata hampir tiga model per hari. Semua pihak bersaing dalam kecepatan, spesifikasi, dan harga, sehingga siklus pengembangan semakin pendek. Ia mencatat bahwa baterai daya menuntut presisi yang sangat tinggi dan memiliki toleransi kesalahan yang sangat rendah. Dalam produksi massal, semua masalah kecil akan berlipat ganda berkali-kali, sehingga setiap proses dan setiap parameter harus dikontrol secara ketat sejak tahap desain, anomali harus diidentifikasi lebih awal, dan tidak boleh ada toleransi terhadap masalah kualitas.
