According to the SMM imported ore cost-profit table, the profit of imported ore has slightly declined; as of April 19, SMM tracked a total of 141.54 million tons of ore inventory at 35 ports, an increase of 0.86 million tons compared to the previous period and an increase of 14.59 million tons year-on-year; the daily port evacuation volume of imported ore is 2.884 million tons, an increase of 0.09 million tons compared to the previous period, and a decrease of 1.63 million tons year-on-year. The volume of ore arriving at ports in the previous cycle still increased significantly, suppressing the price of iron ore. Additionally, last week there were reports that the United States will investigate Chinese steel exports, which may stimulate steel exports in the short term, driving iron ore demand, but exhibiting a bearish outlook in the medium to long term. It is expected that this week, with the rebound of molten iron and the demand for restocking before Labor Day, ore prices will continue to fluctuate with a bias towards strength, and it is expected that there is still room for an increase in imported ore profits.
