On April 8th, SMM reported that the battery-grade lithium carbonate index was 111,565 yuan/ton, an increase of 911 yuan/ton from the previous working day; the price range for battery-grade lithium carbonate was 11.02-11.35 million yuan/ton, with an average price of 11.19 million yuan/ton, an increase of 800 yuan/ton from the previous working day; the price range for industrial-grade lithium carbonate was 10.70-10.90 million yuan/ton, with an average price of 10.80 million yuan/ton, an increase of 1000 yuan/ton from the previous working day. Today, lithium carbonate prices have risen. From the perspective of supply and demand, smelting enterprises are generally reluctant to sell, and the overall supply of spot goods is leaning towards a tense pace. During the holiday period, the spot market transactions were stagnant, with downstream companies consuming existing stocks to maintain normal production rhythms. More companies are now making just-in-time purchases to supplement their needs, gradually pushing up the overall transaction prices. Additionally, due to the low inventory levels of brine enterprises at present, lithium salt recycling companies are generally slower in resuming production after the Spring Festival compared to raw material lithium salt enterprises, leading to a stronger price support sentiment. The supply of quasi-battery-grade lithium carbonate and industrial-grade lithium carbonate is also tight; downstream companies, such as cathode manufacturers, are more inclined to purchase low-priced quasi-electric and industrial carbon sources during the previous price rebound, which has led to a gradual narrowing of the price difference between industrial-grade lithium carbonate and battery-grade lithium carbonate in the market.
