Jiayuan Technology indicated that currently, mainstream PR-6 6-micron copper foil products account for about 75%, while ultra-thin high-strength copper foil of 6 microns and below account for about 25%. However, the processing fees for ultra-thin high-strength copper foils of 6 microns and below are approximately 15% higher than for conventional PR products. Processing fees for 4.5-micron and 5-micron products remain high and are also the main source of profit. The company has already sent samples of 4-micron ultra-thin copper foil to a well-known battery cell factory for testing.
As for NORDEN Group, they stated that with the expansion of the downstream market and the increasing demand for ultra-thin, high-performance products, the high-end production lines are still in short supply. NORDEN Group has already achieved mass production of 5-6 micron copper foil and commenced mass production and delivery of 4.5-micron and 4-micron ultra-thin copper foil. They also have the capacity for mass production of 3.5-micron ultra-thin copper foil.
