Zinc in Shanghai: Discount widened amid poor spot trading

Mainstream traded prices of #0 zinc were 20500~20600 yuan/mt today, with 20670~20790 yuan/mt for Shuangyan zinc, and 20430~20530 yuan/mt for #1 zinc. Spot discounts were 15 ~ 30 yuan/mt over the 2404 zinc contract. During the second trading session, regular domestic brands were quoted with discounts of 15~30 yuan/mt over the SHFE 2404 zinc contract. Shuangyan zinc was quoted with premiums of 140~170 yuan/mt over the contract. Although zinc prices were lowered today, they were still at a high level, and social inventories were relatively large. Downstream companies mainly purchased as needed, and the overall premium continued to decrease.
