SMM Analysis: 19% Monthly Decrease in Lithium Hydroxide Exports in December 2023, Demand from Japan and South Korea Declines
January 22nd: In December 2023, China's lithium hydroxide exports reached 12,342 tons, a 19% decrease from the previous month, and a 41% increase from the same period last year. Looking at the export destinations, several countries and regions overseas showed a continued decline in demand for Chinese lithium hydroxide. Specifically, South Korea remained the largest export destination for Chinese lithium hydroxide in that month, with 9,592 tons exported, accounting for 78% of the total monthly exports and a 21% decrease from the previous month. Japan, the second largest export destination, received around 2,163 tons, accounting for approximately 18% of the total exports, also experiencing a 15% decrease from the previous month.
