The Baltic Dry Index (BDI) rose to its highest level since the end of June on Tuesday, as Capesize rates stopped their five-day decline and Panamax rates continued to rise. The BDI rose 31 points, or 2.7%, to 1,166 points. The Capesize index rose 27 points, or 1.7%, to 1,597 points, with the daily average earnings increasing by $227 to $13,244. The Panamax index rose 47 points, or 3.4%, to 1,412 points, its highest level since May 11. The daily average earnings increased by $429 to $12,710. The Supramax index rose 27 points to 772 points.
