Throughout the first half of this year, the photovoltaic industry chain has experienced continuous turbulence, leading to a predominantly weak market trend. Prices of upstream silicon wafers have been nearly halved, and the module prices have been in a consistent fall since early May. From the perspective of bid prices, N-type module prices, which stood high at the year's onset, have been gradually descending, mirroring the overall market price trend and maintaining a downward trajectory.
As per incomplete data from SMM, N-type module prices peaked in January, with the highest bid price hitting 1.92 yuan/w and the lowest touching 1.71 yuan/w, averaging at 1.82 yuan/Watt. Throughout the first quarter, the successful bid prices of N-type modules remained above 1.7 yuan/w, with an average bid price of 1.76 yuan/w.
With the onset of the second quarter, the photovoltaic market experienced a significant price reduction wave. April saw heightened price volatility for N-type modules, with the lowest bid price sinking to 1.53 yuan/w, representing a decrease of 0.2 yuan/w compared to March. In June, the N-type module prices dipped further, with the highest bid price reaching 1.77 yuan/w, the lowest touching 1.44 yuan/w, and the average settling at 1.6 yuan/w. The average successful bid price for the second quarter was 1.67 yuan/w, showing a drop of 0.1 yuan/w compared to the first quarter.
July brought about another major decline in N-type module prices, with the highest bid price at 1.46 yuan/w, the lowest plunging to 1.32 yuan/w, and the average dropping to 1.39 yuan/w. The price range for the N-type modules fell from 1.7-1.9 yuan/w at the beginning of the year to 1.3-1.5 yuan/w, marking a decrease of 0.4 yuan/w.
