The inventory of mines in Liaoning dropped in May. Capacity utilisation rates dropped and the overall supply decreased.

Besides, demand from steel mills was strong. Due to the low price, high grade and low impurity content of local concentrates, steel mills that suffered losses increased the use proportion of local concentrates, and also used cheap imported low-grade ore.

[Molybdenum News] SMM, September 3: A Yunnan mine sold 96 mt of Mo42.5% molybdenum concentrates (copper content within 2%) via tender, with a transaction price of 5,380 yuan/mtu and a base price of 5,300 yuan/mtu. The price is based on a Mo42.5% grade, with a price spread adjustment of 5 yuan/mtu for each 1% grade change on a pro-rata basis; other impurities are unrestricted, not priced, and not subject to deductions. At final settlement, no deduction applies if Cu impurity is less than or equal to 2%; if Cu impurity exceeds 2%, a deduction of 10 yuan/mtu applies.
