Nickel Salt Plants Gain Low Profit Margins Last Week

SHANGHAI, Apr 17 (SMM) - Nickel sulphate enterprises had to ship at lows amid slack demand. Profit margins of nickel sulphate companies stood low. Last week, the premiums of nickel briquettes over nickel sulphate once soared to 29,000 yuan/mt. Companies that process nickel sulphate with MHP and high-grade nickel matte also bore losses, while those that produce with scrap could gain some profits. According to SMM survey, the production schedule of nickel sulphate enterprises in April dips 15.93% from the previous month. As a result, the supply of raw materials has been slightly sufficient, which may force the raw material producers to lower their quotes.
