British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on March 31 local time that the UK has been approved to join the "Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement" (CPTPP). Sunak said all member states had finally approved Britain's membership application after a final round of talks in Vietnam earlier this month. It is understood that a CPTPP committee attended by ministerial officials will be held in July 2023. The agreement will be formally signed at the meeting, and the UK will finally join the organisation after the member states complete the approval process in their own parliaments.
