SMM Survey of China Construction Projects in 3 Months

SHANGHAI, Mar 10 (SMM) – According to the most recent SMM survey of 100 construction companies across China, there will be still room for the acceleration of construction progress in March.

Among the SMM sample enterprises, 48% indicated that the construction progress would be accelerated in March, among which construction enterprises accounted for 30% and infrastructure enterprises accounted for 64%. In the first month after the CNY holidays, the personnel of some projects had not returned to work, preventing the construction progress from returning to the normal level in February. The projects that were commenced after CNY holidays remain under preparation, and will not progress at a fast clip. But those projects can still step up construction in the coming month, boosting steel demand further.
