Japanese chip foundry Rapidus said it would build a factory in Chitose, on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido. Rapidus said in a press release on Tuesday that the new plant aims to launch a prototype line for trial runs in 2025 and mass produce 2nm chips before 2030.
