According to the US Department of Labor, in the week ended February 11, the number of initial jobless claims stood at 194,000, lower than the market expectation of 200,000, and the previous value was revised to 195,000. In addition, the number of people applying for unemployment benefits in the US for the week ended February 4 was 1.696 million, slightly higher than the expected 1.695 million, and the previous value was revised to 1.68 million. In the week ended February 11, the average number of initial jobless claims stood at 189,500, and the previous value was 189,300.
