MMG confirmed on Wednesday that it would begin a period of maintenance at Las Bambas mine which has been operating at a lower rate since early December.
The company's total copper production in 2022 dropped by 10% year-on-year, mainly due to the broader impact of community protests. Annual copper production at Las Bambas mine in 2022 was 254,800 mt.
In its earnings report, MMG forecasts that Las Bambas copper production guidance for 2023 will be between 265,000 mt and 305,000 mt.
