The production capacity of lithium iron phosphate is expected to reach 100000 tons by the end of this year, of which the existing 10, 000-ton production line in Zaozhuang base is under construction: 25000 tons for the first phase of the Anqing base, 40, 000 tons for the newly planned Zaozhuang base, and 25000 tons for the first phase in Yuxi, Yunnan. The production capacity of Sanyuan is expected to be about 15000 tons by the end of this year, including 5000 tons of conventional Sanyuan and 10,000 tons of high nickel.

For the first quarter of this year's production schedule, Fengyuan shares revealed that most of the company's lithium iron phosphate supplies BYD, and some supplies Penghui Energy. In terms of Sanyuan customers, Fengyuan shares said that at present, conventional Sanyuan customers are mainly Bofuneng, Wuxing, etc.; High Nickel Sanyuan currently has relatively small production capacity, and its main customers are Penghui Energy and far East batteries. Fengyuan shares believe that high nickel ternary and lithium iron phosphate have good development prospects, and the company will continue to adhere to the route of common development of these two products.

It is reported that since July 2021, Fengyuan received regular quantitative procurement demand for lithium iron phosphate from BYD and officially began to supply it in bulk. Data show that Fengyuan supplied half of the company's sales of lithium iron phosphate to BYD in the third quarter of 2021, making BYD one of its most important downstream customers.

In addition, in November 2021, Fengyuan disclosed that its wholly-owned subsidiary Fengyuan Lithium Energy signed a contract with Penghui Energy from 2021 to December 2022. Penghui Energy will purchase lithium iron phosphate and lithium nickel cobalt manganate (nickel 5 series, high nickel 8 series) products from Fengyuan Lithium Energy, with a total contract amount of about 800 million yuan. the contract is expected to have a positive impact on Fengyuan's financial position and operating results in 2022.

According to reports, since Fengyuan shares were listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2016, while maintaining the traditional advantage industry oxalic acid chemical industry, it has focused on the strategic transformation of the development of new energy lithium battery cathode materials industry. At present, the company has gradually formed a dual-main business structure based on oxalic acid chemical industry and new energy lithium cathode material industry.

It is worth noting that Fengyuan Co., Ltd. announced on February 25 that it agreed that Shandong Fengyuan, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, would invest 200000 tons of lithium battery high-energy cathode materials and related projects in Yuxi, Yunnan Province. Among them, the first phase produces 50, 000 tons of lithium iron phosphate cathode material and 1000 tons of clay lithium extraction pilot line, with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan.

Fengyuan said that because the lithium content in the clay mine is relatively low and the composition is complex, the company will comprehensively consider the process and technology route in order to ensure purity, improve efficiency and reduce cost. At present, the production line of extracting lithium from 1000 tons of clay is a pilot line, and the costs of follow-up mining and mass production need to be accurately calculated after the pilot line is completed and put into operation. Clay lithium extraction is carried out by the clay lithium extraction research and development team of Zhongke Fengyuan High Energy Lithium Battery Materials Research Institute. Relevant experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences provide technical guidance and rely on the rich technical accumulation of the research institute to design the pilot test line.

In addition, Fengyuan shares also revealed that the company has a more mature technical reserve in lithium ferromanganese phosphate. The company also has sufficient technical research and development and reserves in high energy density, high pressure solid lithium iron phosphate products and solid state batteries, cobalt-free batteries and other new materials.
