It has also heightened concerns in the zinc market about energy shortages and rising electricity prices.

In terms of lun zinc, the problem of electricity prices in Europe intensified this week. Due to the maintenance of nuclear power plants in France and the reduction of generating capacity of its largest power plants in Germany this week, comprehensive electricity prices in Europe soared to about 350 euros per megawatt-hour. As a result, some aluminum mills in Europe have also reduced production, which has also exacerbated concerns in the zinc market about energy shortages and rising electricity prices. The market is worried that after refinery costs rise further, there will be events such as prolonging production cuts or expanding production cuts in the coming first quarter, driving up zinc prices. On the other hand, in the later stage, until the electricity price, the biggest risk point, has not been completely lifted, Lun Zinc will remain strong and is expected to operate at 3450 to 3650 US dollars / ton.

Pada 16 September, sebuah kecelakaan jatuh yang fatal merenggut nyawa seorang pekerja subkontraktor selama pekerjaan atap di Pabrik 2 smelter Onsan milik Korea Zinc di Ulsan, Korea Selatan. Insiden tersebut terjadi di atap ruang kondensor, bagian dari sistem pemanggangan dan asam sulfat di ujung depan alur proses seng, saat kipas ventilasi sedang dipasang. Kecelakaan ini muncul dari pekerjaan konstruksi eksterior dan tidak merusak peralatan peleburan utama. Namun, jika sistem pemanggangan-asam dihentikan, pemanggang seng tidak dapat mempertahankan operasi normal. Belum ada pemberitahuan pemotongan produksi, penghentian pemeliharaan, atau penangguhan yang dikeluarkan, dan investigasi sedang berlangsung. Apakah perintah penghentian kerja akan dikeluarkan — dan seberapa luas cakupannya — serta apakah perusahaan secara sukarela menghentikan sistem yang terdampak untuk inspeksi masih belum diketahui; oleh karena itu, dampak terhadap produksi masih belum pasti. Sebagai referensi sensitivitas yang sangat kasar berdasarkan kapasitas terpasang smelter sekitar 640.000 ton per tahun, penghentian selama 3–7 hari akan menyiratkan dampak volume dalam kisaran beberapa ribu ton — tetapi ini hanyalah estimasi orde besaran, dan dampak aktualnya bergantung pada cakupan dan durasi penghentian terkait inspeksi.
