[the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology guides the high-quality development of lithium power: the word "testing" is repeatedly mentioned and the battery performance target is given.] Today, the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology solicited opinions on the "Lithium-ion Battery Industry Standard conditions (2021 version)" (hereinafter referred to as "the normative conditions") and the "Lithium-ion Battery Industry Standard Bulletin Management measures (2021 version)" (draft for soliciting opinions).

Today, the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) publicly solicited opinions on the Lithium Ion Battery Industry Standard conditions (2021 version) (draft for soliciting opinions) (hereinafter referred to as "normative conditions") and the measures for the Administration of Lithium Ion Battery Industry Standard announcement (2021 version) (draft for soliciting opinions) at the same time.

The "normative conditions" proposes to guide enterprises to reduce manufacturing projects that simply expand production capacity, strengthen technological innovation, improve product quality, and reduce production costs. At the same time, it also gives guidance to enterprises in many aspects. Specifically:

On the one hand, it puts forward clear qualitative and quantitative requirements for the production process and equipment used by enterprises.

On the other hand, the energy density of battery and battery pack, the specific volume of positive and negative material, the tensile strength of diaphragm and the performance of the four main materials of electrolyte are quantitatively specified. Among them, the target data of power battery are as follows: energy type battery energy density ≥ 180 Whshock kg, battery pack energy density ≥ 120 Whshock kg, power density of power type battery ≥ 700W shock kg, battery pack power density ≥ 500W/kg.

Correspondingly, the average energy density of the traditional battery pack is 180Wh/kg at present. The ternary lithium iron standard battery pack released at the end of September has an energy density of 142Whhand kg; the 4680 battery competing by several manufacturers has an energy density of 300Wh/kg.

It is worth mentioning that the battery manufacturing link of "testing" in the "specification conditions" has been mentioned many times.

On the disk, among lithium devices, China Electric Research rose 7.06% to 32.28 yuan per share this morning, Hangke Technology rose 3.66%, and Nebula shares rose 1.47%. All three are mainly engaged in testing equipment / back-road equipment.

Return to the origin of technology and focus on the main line of development.

Judging from the above documents, the two major themes of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology this time are to avoid extensive development and encourage technological innovation. Technological progress, reducing costs and increasing efficiency are not only the pursuit of manufacturers in the industry, but also the focus of market consumers all the time.

These development goals need to be cut from multiple links of the industrial chain and make joint efforts. So, from the perspective of batteries and the four main materials, what technical routes are expected to benefit?

First of all, from the battery itself, there are mainly two specific directions.

The first is structural innovation, and the main means is to enlarge the cell. Among them, the square battery has unique advantages; in the cylindrical battery, the 4680 battery, which is in the limelight recently, is expected to increase its energy by five times; and the soft package is expected to be introduced in solid state and expand its application.

The second is structural intensification, which evolves towards non-modularization. Ningde era's CTP, BYD's blade battery is not the focus, the future CTC and other technologies are expected to achieve a higher degree of integration.

Secondly, from the perspective of materials, it is also a big breakthrough to reduce cost and increase efficiency. "Nature Energy" has carried out cost separation of ternary NCM/ graphite cells, in which the material cost accounts for 74.9% of the cell cost, of which the cathode material accounts for about 50% of the material cost.

Positive point of view: in the short term, the high nickel cathode has been commercial, which is a clear direction of development and application; in the middle 3-5 years, the lithium-rich manganese base and high voltage positive electrode can better meet the specific energy requirements; for a long time, the application of lithium-free cathode will bring about great innovation in the system. It is worth mentioning that Minmetals Securities pointed out that lithium ferromanganese phosphate (LMFP) is an important new material development direction.

Negative electrode angle: at present, graphite negative electrode is still the mainstream, but its specific capacity is close to the upper limit. Silicon-based negative electrode and metal lithium negative electrode are hot spots of research and development. Among them, in the silicon-based negative electrode route, Tesla, BYD, Weilai, Ningde era and so on have been laid out one after another. GAC EAN has applied the new silicon anode material to large-scale power battery cell products for the first time, and Betteri has achieved silicon-carbon negative electrode production. Cunninghamia lanceolata shares, Jiangxi Zichen and so on have a small trial production capacity.

Electrolyte point of view: solid-state battery is a prospect technology that must be faced directly, and one of its core is the development of solid-state electrolyte. At present, Honeycomb Energy has released power battery products based on gel electrolytes, and Ulai expects to deliver 150kWh solid-state battery packs based on mixed solid-liquid electrolytes in 2022.

Diaphragm angle: Minmetals Securities said in the above report that polyolefin materials and additives as diaphragm matrix materials will still be mainstream products in the future. But in the long run, the industry will still have predictable changes. On the one hand, the era of large energy storage is approaching, driving the thin diaphragm and the development of new materials; on the other hand, all-solid-state batteries do not need liquid electrolytes and traditional diaphragms.

From the battery industry as a whole, high barriers are mainly reflected in five dimensions: high-intensity R & D investment, profound technology accumulation; lean production, extreme manufacturing innovation; effective, high-quality capacity expansion, forming scale effect; build a complete supply chain system; in-depth cooperation with the world's leading automobile companies.

From this point of view, the organization believes that it is conducive to the formation of a stronger industry pattern, and the competitive advantage of leading enterprises is expected to be further strengthened.
