Inventories of aluminium billet in China extended their increases this week on the back of stable arrivals and limited shipments from warehouses

SHANGHAI, Feb 27 (SMM) – Inventories of aluminium billet in China extended their increases this week on the back of stable arrivals and limited shipments from warehouses.

SMM data showed that stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas in China rose 19,300 mt from February 20 to 212,400 mt as of February 27. This followed the stocks expanded 22,500 mt in the week ended February 20.

Inventory

Foshan, Guangdong – 86,400 mt
Wuxi, Jiangsu – 53,900 mt
Changzhou, Jiangsu – 21,400 mt
Huzhou, Zhejiang – 30,000 mt
Nanchang, Jiangxi – 20,800 mt

Chalco's $1.82B Aluminum Foil Project 40% Complete, Aims for 2027 Operation and $4B Output

The total investment of the Chalco Aluminum Foil New Energy High-Precision Plate, Sheet, Strip and Foil Project is RMB 1.82 billion, and physical progress has currently reached 40%. The roofing of the factory building will be completed by June 30 this year, and equipment commissioning and acceptance will be finished by month-end December, followed by trial production. It is understood that the project is expected to be officially completed and put into operation on May 31, 2027.
