SMM5, 10 Feb. according to foreign media reports, Rio Tinto (Rio Tinto) Chief Executive Jean-Sebastien Jacques said that in order to offset the impact of slowing demand in the United States, the company has begun to increase aluminum exports to markets such as Europe.
Jean-Sebastien Jacques has earlier said that the development of the automobile industry and construction industry in the United States has slowed. So Rio is shifting some of its aluminium business from Canada to Europe or Japan.
Rio Tinto, which is bullish on aluminium's prospects, has previously said that copper and aluminium will benefit in the short and long term as energy and transport electrification develops.
Last year, Rio Tinto produced 3.5 million tons of metal tons, and its aluminum-related business helped Rio make a profit of $3.01 billion.
