SHANGHAI, Mar 8 (SMM) – Social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong continued to grow this week as the two political sessions in Beijing and smog in northern regions prompted some galvanising plants to suspend, and slowed the pace of consumption recovery.

SMM data showed that social inventories of refined zinc across the three regions rose 8,300 mt from Friday March 1 and 5,000 mt from Monday March 4 to stand at 223,100 mt as of Friday March 8.

In March, smelters recovered from February and maintained normal shipments.
