Political sessions, air pollution shut galvanised pipe plants in Hebei

SHANGHAI, Mar 5 (SMM) – Galvanised steel pipe manufactures in Handan of Hebei province were required to suspend or cut production on Monday March 4, as the two political sessions began on Sunday March 3 in Beijing, and as the heavy smog continued in the city and nearby areas. 

SMM learned that daily capacity across major galvanised steel pipe producers in Handan stood at some 15,000 mt. It is unclear when the restrictions will be lifted.
