Post-Holiday Supplier Shipments Put Spot Premiums Under Pressure [SMM North China Spot Copper]

Today, #1 copper cathode spot prices in North China against the front-month contract were reported at a discount of 190 yuan/mt to a discount of 90 yuan/mt. The average price fell 10 yuan/mt from the previous trading day, while the average transaction price of 96,640 yuan/mt rose 595 yuan/mt from the previous trading day.

SMM April 7 update:

Spot prices of #1 copper cathode in North China against the front-month contract were reported at a discount of 190 yuan/mt to a discount of 90 yuan/mt today. The average price fell 10 yuan/mt from the previous trading day, while the average transaction price of 96,640 yuan/mt rose 595 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Consumption in northern China slowed down after April, and upstream willingness to sell increased after the holiday, keeping spot premiums under pressure. The purchasing sentiment for copper cathode in North China was 1.75 today, up 0.03 from the previous trading day, while the selling sentiment was 2.65, up 0.29 from the previous trading day ().
