[National Energy Administration: Total electricity consumption up 4.7% YoY, January-July.]
The National Energy Administration released the July total electricity consumption data. In July, total electricity consumption was 1,040 billion kWh, up 1.7% YoY. By industry, primary industry electricity consumption was 16.7 billion kWh, down 2.0% YoY. Secondary industry electricity consumption was 611.6 billion kWh, up 3.0% YoY; of which, industrial electricity consumption was 605.5 billion kWh, up 3.3% YoY, and high-tech and equipment manufacturing electricity consumption was 122 billion kWh, up 8.9% YoY. Tertiary industry electricity consumption was 218.3 billion kWh, up 4.8% YoY; of which, battery charging and swapping services and Internet data services electricity consumption were 16.4 billion and 9.9 billion kWh respectively, with growth rates of 50.3% and 40.1% respectively. Residential electricity consumption was 193.5 billion kWh, down 5.1% YoY.
For January-July, cumulative total electricity consumption was 6,139.9 billion kWh, up 4.7% YoY. By industry, primary industry electricity consumption was 87.7 billion kWh, up 3.5% YoY. Secondary industry electricity consumption was 3,917.3 billion kWh, up 4.7% YoY; of which, industrial electricity consumption was 3,881.5 billion kWh, up 4.9% YoY, and high-tech and equipment manufacturing electricity consumption was 722.8 billion kWh, up 9.7% YoY. Tertiary industry electricity consumption was 1,210 billion kWh, up 7.4% YoY; of which, battery charging and swapping services and Internet data services electricity consumption were 97.4 billion and 59.3 billion kWh respectively, with growth rates of 55.8% and 43.3% respectively. Residential electricity consumption was 924.9 billion kWh, up 1.3% YoY.
