Shanghai Market: Hot-rolled coil shipments in the Shanghai market moved sideways WoW this week. Specifically, shipment levels from mainstream steel mills in Northeast and South China edged up, while shipments from east China and north China markets remained stable. Looking ahead to next week, the shipment level of northern resources will likely remain stable in the short term, with relatively small room for fluctuation. South China market, considering the slow shipment pace of some steel mills earlier, the shipment pace is expected to pick up in June, and arrivals in the Shanghai market may edge up in the next 1–2 weeks.

Lecong Market: Lecong-bound shipments stopped declining and turned to an increase this week. Specifically, shipments from North China and mainstream resources both increased, leading to a WoW increase in total arrivals. Looking ahead, with northern materials having mostly arrived earlier, the current price spread hardly supports client orders, making it hard for resources to the south to continue increasing. Mainstream resources side, South China and east China prices are inverted, DDH may shift after completing short-term shipments, and WG has newly added rolling line maintenance in the short term, making it difficult for shipments to increase significantly. Lecong arrivals will pull back in the short term.
