This week (5.15-5.21), the enamelled wire industry machine utilization rate edged up 0.27 percentage points WoW to 73.93%, with weekly order-taking volume up 1.36 percentage points WoW. Copper prices pulled back at the beginning of the week, driving a phased increase in orders. Downstream cargo pick-up was moderate, and industry finished product inventories days pulled back to 9.64 days. However, end-use demand showed no significant improvement, with the home appliance sector remaining weak and traditional sectors delivering mediocre performance. Currently, industry orders changes were mainly driven by copper price fluctuations, with downstream players highly sensitive to prices and procurement pace adjusting with copper price changes, while rigid demand release remained suppressed. Overall, the enamelled wire industry is currently significantly affected by copper prices, and the enamelled wire industry machine utilization rate is expected to be 74.07% next week.
