[Low-Priced Sources Emerged in the Afternoon, Magnesium Market Trading Remained Sluggish] Today, the quoted price of 99.90% magnesium ingot in the main producing areas was 16,600-16,700 yuan/mt, with more low-priced sources appearing in the market.

SMM News, April 8:

Today, 99.90% magnesium ingot prices in major producing areas were quoted at 17,400-17,500 yuan/mt, down 50 yuan/mt from earlier quotes.

The magnesium market was in the doldrums today. Primary magnesium smelters softened their quotes, and low-priced supplies increased in the market. In the afternoon, supplies at 17,400 yuan/mt emerged from time to time. Demand side, traders currently showed low interest in prevailing prices. The magnesium market overall saw sluggish inquiries and delayed transaction follow-ups. Overall, magnesium market transactions were sluggish today, and magnesium prices are expected to remain in the doldrums going forward.

Latrobe Magnesium Secures $2M Prepayment for U.S. Market Expansion, Targets H2 2026 Deliveries
[SMM Magnesium Express] Latrobe Magnesium secured a $2 million non-dilutive prepayment from its U.S. distribution partner Metal Exchange for commissioning of pyrometallurgical equipment at its Latrobe Valley demonstration plant.
