Yue Hydropower New Energy Research Institute Visited Heng Hui Hydrogen Energy Research Institute to Deepen Industry-University-Research Collaboration in the Hydrogen-Methanol Field and Jointly Promote Green Energy Transition

Published: Feb 5, 2026 14:10

On February 3, Ma Bohao, Dean of the Guangdong Yue Shuidian New Energy Research Institute, led a team including Liu Si, Head of the Hydrogen Alcohol Industry, and Specialist Liu Ruanshan on a visit to the Hunan Henghui Hydrogen Energy Research Institute for a special survey and exchange. Xie Wentao, General Manager of Henghui Hydrogen Energy, and You Kuiyi, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering at Xiangtan University, along with related professors, attended the event. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics such as hydrogen alcohol technology R&D and achievement transformation, reaching a consensus on cooperation.

During the symposium, both sides introduced their development overviews and core strengths. Xie Wentao extended a warm welcome to Ma Bohao and his delegation, providing a detailed introduction to the Hunan Henghui Hydrogen Energy Research Institute (funded by Guangzhou Henghui Hydrogen Energy and established in collaboration with the School of Chemical Engineering at Xiangtan University), including its research team, core R&D directions (electrode manufacturing, electrolyzer optimization, R&D of new catalytic materials), as well as phased achievements in hydrogen energy technology breakthroughs and the integration of industry, academia, and research. He emphasized its commitment to breaking down barriers between industry, academia, and research and promoting the industrialisation of achievements.

During the survey, accompanied by Xie Wentao and You Kuiyi, Ma Bohao and his delegation visited the research institute's R&D laboratories and equipment exhibition areas, gaining an in-depth understanding of its technological layout and breakthroughs in areas such as hydrogen energy electrode materials and electrolyzer design optimization. They highly praised its research advantages and the positioning of its high performance electrode materials research base.

It is reported that, as a provincially owned state-controlled publicly listed firm in Guangdong Province, Yue Shuidian has been deeply involved in the clean energy sector for many years, building a complete industry chain encompassing engineering construction, clean energy investment, and equipment manufacturing. Its new energy research institute focuses on the cutting-edge track of hydrogen alcohol energy, with extensive experience in industrial research, technology transformation, and scenario expansion. The core purpose of this visit was to connect with the research advantages of the Henghui Hydrogen Energy Research Institute and identify points of cooperation synergy.

Participants from both sides took a group photo. This survey and exchange established an efficient communication bridge between the two parties, achieving a precise alignment of "research advantages" with "industrial advantages," laying a solid foundation for subsequent deepened cooperation. In the next step, both sides will establish a regular communication and collaboration mechanism, integrate resource advantages, focus on the pain points and difficulties in the hydrogen alcohol field, carry out in-depth cooperation, promote the resonance of technological innovation and industrial development, and jointly expand new scenarios and cultivate new momentum for the hydrogen alcohol industry, contributing to China's green energy transition and the achievement of the "dual carbon" goals.
