POSCO Future M to Build LFP Cathode Plant for ESS Applications

POSCO Future M will construct a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material plant to respond to the rapidly growing energy storage system (ESS) market. The project is scheduled to break ground in 2026, with mass production set to begin in the second half of 2027. In addition, the company plans to retrofit its existing cathode plant in Pohang to expand LFP production capacity to up to 50,000 tons.
