[Le PDG d'Alcoa discute des tarifs douaniers avec le président Trump]

Selon les informations, le PDG d'Alcoa, William Oplinger, a brièvement discuté avec le président Trump pour s'opposer aux droits de douane qui ont coûté 115 millions de dollars à Alcoa et ont nui à ses exportations canadiennes. Il a prévenu que la reconstruction de la fonderie américaine pour remplacer 4 millions de tonnes d'importations prendrait au moins cinq ans, nécessiterait 6 GW d'énergie et 30 milliards de dollars, et a souligné l'interdépendance de la chaîne d'approvisionnement États-Unis-Canada et les emplois américains en aval soutenus par les activités canadiennes en amont.
