Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 3, GAC Group announced its sales performance for December 2024. The group sold 283,231 vehicles in the month, representing year-on-year and month-on-month increases of 9.3% and 42.3%, respectively. For 2025, GAC Group aims to achieve a 15% year-over-year growth in annual sales.

Among its self-owned brands, GAC Trumpchi delivered a strong performance in December with sales of 58,056 vehicles, jumping 64.35% year on year. The brand's annual sales totaled 414,591 units, marking a 1.99% increase over a year earlier, driven by a 129.8% year-on-year surge in its sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs). The GAC Trumpchi MPV lineup recorded sales of around 184,000 units in 2024.

GAC AION also achieved impressive results, with December sales reaching 67,683 units, a year-on-year surge of 47.31%. Its AION RT model set a new monthly sales record, exceeding 16,000 units. Additionally, AION's third global strategic model, the AION UT, has been unveiled and is set to begin presales on January 6, 2025.

As for its joint ventures, GAC Toyota sold 738,000 vehicles in 2024, reflecting a 22.32% year-on-year decline. Its December sales were 77,122 units, down 20.83% over the previous year. GAC Honda also reported a more than 20% decline in its annual sales but achieved a modest 0.78% year-on-year increase in December sales.

GAC Group exported around 127,000 vehicles through 2024, a significant 67.6% year-on-year spike.

Regarding the international market expansion, GAC Group showcased several key models under its self-owned brands at the Paris Motor Show 2024 in October last year, where it launched its "European Market Plan," signaling a new chapter for its expansion in Europe. By the end of 2024, GAC's products were available in 74 countries and regions, supported by an initial global sales and service network.

GAC Group also advanced its global production strategy. In 2024, the group established six overseas warehouses, completed construction of its CKD plant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and opened the GAC AION Smart Factory in Thailand. Both facilities began production in April and July, respectively, marking a new era of balancing vehicle exports with localized production. Additionally, the GAC Group’s Indonesia factory is under construction and is expected to commence operations in early 2025.
