Xinjiang Shuanghe Signs 100,000 mt Hard Carbon Anode Contract for Sodium-Ion Batteries

[Sodium-Ion Battery Hard Carbon Anode: Xinjiang Shuanghe Signs 100,000 mt Hard Carbon Anode Contract with Tanguide and Yulin Energy] On December 6, 2024, Shuanghe Economic Development Zone signed a supplementary cooperation agreement with Hunan Tanguide New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Shaanxi Yulin Energy Group Co., Ltd. for 50,000 mt of hard carbon anode material, bringing the total project scale to 100,000 mt. Previously, on November 12, 2024, the Fifth Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Shuanghe Economic Development Zone reached a cooperation agreement with Hunan Tanguide New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Shaanxi Yulin Energy Group Co., Ltd. to jointly promote the construction of a project with an annual output of 50,000 mt of hard carbon anode material. According to the agreement, the Fifth Division Shuanghe Economic Development Zone will provide 300 mu of net land for the project and support it with a 1 GW new energy quota. In addition, the cooperating enterprises will also enjoy industrial support funds provided by the local government ranging from 10 million to 50 million yuan, as well as the "two-year exemption and three-year half reduction" corporate income tax incentive policy.

According to CPCA data, in April, passenger vehicle market sales were 1.368 million units, down 19.4% YoY and down 7.0% MoM; new energy market sales were approximately 817,000 units, down 6.2% YoY and up 2.4% MoM. In April, new energy market sales accounted for 59.7% of total passenger vehicle sales, up 8.4 percentage points from the same period last year. In April, BEV sales were approximately 571,000 units, up 3.9% YoY and up 2.4% MoM; PHEV sales were approximately 246,000 units, down 23.5% YoY and up 2.4% MoM. Cumulative new energy auto sales in 2026 reached 2.61 million units, down 18.4% YoY on a cumulative basis.
