[Shanghai: The first round of competitive allocation for offshore PV projects to commence in 2024, with a scale of no less than 1 million kW]
SMM reported on August 26th that the "Shanghai Offshore Photovoltaic Development and Construction Plan for Wind and Solar Integration" proposes to initiate the first round of competitive allocation for offshore photovoltaic projects in 2024, with a scale of no less than 1 million kW. As a guaranteed grid-connected project in Shanghai, the first round of competitive allocation projects will be included in the city's annual renewable energy development and construction plan. The municipal power company will ensure grid connection and consumption, encouraging investors to configure energy storage as needed. In 2025, the competitive allocation and development of the remaining offshore photovoltaic projects will commence. Investors will be required to build new energy storage devices with an output capacity not less than 20% of the installed capacity of offshore photovoltaic power generation (with a rated charge and discharge duration of no less than 2 hours). The new energy storage can be realized through self-construction, joint construction, or capacity leasing, and will be completed and connected to the grid simultaneously with the offshore photovoltaic projects.
