Les opérations artisanales ont représenté 803,73 tonnes, soit environ 92,5 % de la production totale, tandis que la production industrielle a contribué à hauteur de 65,21 tonnes. La production artisanale déclarée a fortement augmenté pour atteindre 648,08 tonnes au deuxième trimestre, contre 155,65 tonnes au premier trimestre. Le Haut-Lomami est devenu la principale province productrice de coltan artisanal déclarée, avec 490,67 tonnes sur la période, dépassant le Tanganyika.
