Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 14, 2024, GAC Energy Technology Co., Ltd. ("GAC Energy"), which is owned by GAC Group, and Guangzhou Ruyue Travel Group ("Ruyue Travel"), a subsidiary of Guangzhou Public Transport, sealed a partnership at the GAC AION Park, according to a press release from GAC AION.
Under the agreement, both companies will merge their operations of electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swap stations to align with the energy needs of Guangzhou's taxi fleets, aiming to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient energy services for the city's public transport. By the end of May, their EV charging platforms will be interconnected.
GAC Energy, as one of main smart energy replenishment service providers in China, boasts 80 1,000V high-voltage supercharging stations in Guangzhou city and 188 across Guangdong Province, strategically located along expressways. This network is rapidly creating a 5-kilometer-wide "energy replenishment circle," effectively catering to the energy demands of both urban and suburban commuters. This collaboration will enhance energy accessibility for taxi drivers by linking the platforms and organizing tailored energy replenishment activities, significantly boosting the overall charging experience for them.
GAC Energy said it continues to embrace an open partnership strategy, focusing on four key pillars, namely, new energy vehicles to drive transport electrification, energy storage to harness clean energy, battery recycling, and digital solutions for energy operations. Committed to pioneering sustainable and smart digital energy solutions, the company strives to help forge a sustainable, green mobility lifestyle.
