On May 8, the mainstream traded price of 0# zinc ingots in Tianjin was 23,060-23,520 yuan/ton. Zijin zinc was traded at 23,140-23,580 yuan/ton, and Huludao zinc at 26,460 yuan/ton. 0# zinc was at a discount of 60-80 yuan/ton against the 2406 contract and Zijin zinc was flat to the 2406 contract. Tianjin zinc was at a premium of 10 yuan/ton over Shanghai zinc. As of the close of the midday session, the ordinary brand Chihong zinc was at a discount of 60-80 yuan/ton against the 06 contract, Hongye zinc at a discount of 60-70 yuan/ton against the 06 contract, Xinzi zinc at a discount of around 60 yuan/ton against the 06 contract, and the high-priced brand Zijin at zero discounts against the 06 contract. The zinc market fell today. Traders slightly held firm prices. Downstream traders were still bearish and only purchased for basic needs.
