Toyota started early in the field of recycling and reusing onboard batteries, but recent cooperation with China Minmetals Group and the construction of a battery factory in North Carolina, USA, are pushing this business to new heights. On April 12, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited the United States and visited Toyota's battery factory under construction in North Carolina, conveying information that Japanese capital will provide large-scale investment and job opportunities in the US. This visit also drew attention to Toyota's upcoming battery recycling and reuse project at the factory. Meanwhile, Toyota's battery recycling business in China has made significant progress, announcing an agreement with China Minmetals Group on April 8 to jointly develop battery recycling and accelerate production. The simultaneous advancement of onboard battery recycling and reuse business in the two major markets of China and the US will open up more business possibilities for Toyota. Especially with the continuous growth in demand for onboard batteries, battery recycling is no longer just a form of regulatory compliance.
