According to SMM survey, as of Thursday March 14, the total zinc ingot inventory in seven regions in China was 187,900 mt, an increase of 7,600 mt from March 7, and an increase of 1,800 mt from March 11. The inventory in Shanghai increased during the week, mainly due to the normal arrivals of cargoes in Shanghai and the poor downstream demand; the inventory in Guangdong decreased due to less arriving shipments and on-demand downstream purchases as well as delivery-taking; the inventory in Tianjin increased significantly. Cargoes arrived normally during the week. However, the poor downstream demand amid environmentally-driven production restrictions led to low delivery-taking. Inventories in Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin rose 3,900 mt.
