Guangdong Zinc: Today’s transaction performance in the South China market is poor

#0 zinc in Guangdong was traded at 20735~20740 yuan/mt today. Mainstream brands were quoted with discounts of 20~35 yuan/mt over SHFE 2404 zinc contract, with discounts of 20 yuan/mt against Shanghai prices. For the first time, cargo sellers quoted brands such as Qilin, Huize and Mengzi with discounts of 10 yuan/mt to premiums of 5 yuan/mt. In the morning, the market preferred discounts to receive goods. However, traders still had little sentiment to raise prices. Most of the quotations were for high prices; in the second period, Qilin, Mengzi, etc. were offered a discount of 20~35 yuan/ton. The high price dampened the enthusiasm of downstream buyers. The terminal consumption also did not perform well, so today's transaction was poor.
