SHANGHAI, Feb 28 (SMM) -
Silica
Prices were stable.
The resumption of production at the mines has been completed , and the early weather restrictions on transportation in the northwest region have gradually been lifted. The supply of silica has returned to normal. In the near future, new production capacity in the northwest region of downstream industrial silicon has been gradually connected with raw material silica suppliers. It is expected that the demand for silica will following the increase in downstream production capacity.
At present, the ex-mine price of high-grade silica in Inner Mongolia is 400-420 yuan/ton.
The ex-mine price of high-grade silica in Hubei is 420-480 yuan/ton.
The ex-mine price of low-grade silica in Yunnan is 350~370 yuan/ton.
Supply
The resumption of production in silica mines has been gradually completed, the climate impact in the northwest region has been relieved, the transportation of raw materials at the mines has returned to normal, and the silica supply has gradually returned to normal.
Demand: The procurement of raw materials by downstream silicon companies has gradually resumed, and the overall silica demand has improved slightly. Silica demand is expected to rise during the year.
Industrial silicon metal
Price: Transactions in the industrial silicon market have remained light in recent days. Bidding orders for silicon powder from some polysilicon companies have been signed. The order prices have dropped compared with before the Chinese New Year holiday. Grinding companies are in a strong purchasing mood to lower prices. Silicon factory quotations have been stable and those for some specifications have been slightly reduced. Industrial silicon prices fell.
Supply and demand: The prices of various silicone products on the demand side continued to be strong after the holidays, and the profitability of individual plants improved. As the operating rates of individual plants remained stable, the demand for silicon was basically stable.
Polysilicon is being stocked and silicon powder bidding orders are being released.
Aluminum-silicon alloy enterprise purchases remain on demand, and purchasing prices are basically stable during the week.
Inventory: According to SMM's statistics, social inventories of industrial silicon totalled 360,000 mt as of February 23, up 2,000 mt from Monday.
Among them, 105,000 mt are in general social warehouses, a decrease of 1,000 mt from Monday, and 255,000 mt are in public delivery warehouses (including those that have not been registered as warehouse receipts), an increase of 3,000 mt from Monday.
Import and export: According to customs data, China's silicon exports in December 2023 were 51,600 mt, up 8% month on month and 7% year on year.
Exports totalled 573,000 mt from January to December 2023, a decrease of 12% YoY.
Import: According to customs data, China's silicon import in December 2023 were 1,300 mt, up 70% year on year.
The cumulative import volume of silicon metal from January to December 2023 was 6,500 mt, a year-on-year decrease of 78%.
Silicone
price
DMC:The current price is 15200-15800 yuan/ton, and the price rose this week.
D4: The current quotation is 15000-16000 yuan/ton, and the price rose this week.
107 silicone rubber:The current quotation is 15800-16200 yuan/ton, and the price rose this week.
110 methyl vinyl silicone rubber:The current price is 17000-17800 yuan/ton, and the price rose this week.
Silicone oil: The current quotation is 17300-18400 yuan/ton, and the price rose this week.
Supply and Demand
On the supply side, there is one DMC enterprise in Inner Mongolia and Zhejiang that is still shut down, and the supply side is stable.
On the demand side, rigid demand performed well during the peak season, but supply was tight in some parts of South China. Raw rubber and mixed rubber rose rapidly, but subsequent orders have shrunk, and it is expected that the increase space for prices will shrink.
Polysilicon
price
Polysilicon: The mainstream prices of recharging polysilicon and dense polysilicon were 60-63 yuan/kg and 56-60 yuan/kg respectively.
Polysilicon prices stayed stable this week.
Supply and Demand
There is no obvious fluctuation in the polysilicon market this week, and the signing of concentrated orders for polysilicon in March has not yet clearly begun. SMM understands from the market that the order signing will be concentrated at the end of this week and the beginning of next week.
Comparing the contract signing prices in February, the market is optimistic about price stability.
Silicon wafer
price
Silicon wafer: The mainstream average traded price of monocrystalline silicon wafer M10 and G12 stood at 2.03 yuan/piece and 2.9 yuan/piece respectively.
Supply and Demand
Silicon wafer prices have been stable this week. Due to the relatively tight relationship between supply and demand, the price of P-type silicon wafers has continued to remain high. Some companies have even increased the proportion of P-type wafers in their production schedules month-on-month.
However, the pressure on N-type films has increased due to the trend of accumulated inventory. At the beginning of the week, the prices of manufacturers showed a certain differentiation - some companies raised the price, and some companies reduced the price to 2 yuan/piece for inventory.
High-purity quartz sand
price
Recently, the price of high-purity quartz sand middle layer sand was stable. The domestic price of inner layer sand is 390,000-440,000 yuan/ton, the price of middle layer sand is 160,000-200,000 yuan/ton, and the price of outer layer sand is 50,000-120,000 yuan/ton.
Supply and Demand
Recently, the supply of middle sand has increased, and the price has been under great pressure due to the relatively low price of new products. The price of middle sand in the market has continued to drop, and the recent demand has remained low. The price of high purity quartz sand still has downward space.
