Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Feb. 2, BYD's premium brand, Yangwang, revealed that its inaugural model, the Yangwang U8, witnessed a remarkable sales performance in January, with 1,652 units sold, accumulating a total of 3,653 units since its launch.

The Yangwang U8 Premium Edition officially hit the market on September 20, 2023, with a suggested retail price of 1.098 million yuan. Positioned as a mid-to-large-sized new energy SUV, the vehicle boasts a range of premium features, including a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 2.0T engine and BYD's e⁴ technology platform, delivering over 1,200 horsepower and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. With an battery-power-alone range of 180 kilometers and a comprehensive CLTC range of 1,000 kilometers, the Yangwang U8 sets new standards in the electric vehicle market.

Equipped with the DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic body control system, the U8's suspension offers an extraordinary 150mm active adjustable travel, ensuring a water fording depth of up to 1 meter without a snorkel. Complemented by core components with IP68 dust and water resistance, the U8 can navigate emergencies involving water, enhancing its adaptability in extreme environments.

In the realm of intelligent driving, the vehicle boasts 3 laser radars, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 13 high-definition cameras collectively forming the advanced "God's Eye" advanced driving assistance system, powered by two NVIDIA DRIVE Orin chips with a combined computing power of 508 TOPS.

Inside, the U8 Premium Edition's symmetrical, dual-layered cockpit features a 12.8-inch OLED Galaxy Curved Center Display, dual 23.6-inch longitudinal screens for the driver and front passenger, and high-end Nappa leather seats combined with Sapele wood from Africa. With three wireless charging spots, compatible with 50 kW fast charging, passengers can enjoy quick and convenient charging. It also boasts the Dynaudio Evidence Series high-end audio system with 22 speakers, offering an immersive auditory experience.
