In Jan. 2024, GAC AION saw its monthly overseas markets' sales exceed 3,000 units for the first time.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC AION, the new energy vehicle subsidiary under GAC Group, announced on Feb. 1 that its global sales reached 24,947 vehicles in Jan. 2024. Notably, in this month, the carmaker saw its monthly overseas markets' sales exceed 3,000 units for the first time.

In China's domestic market, GAC AION delivered 21,938 vehicles in total last month.

Transitioning to recent events, the "HELLO HONG KONG GAC AION Brand and AION Y Plus Product Launch Event" was held in Kowloon, Hong Kong, where models like AION Y Plus, the Hyper HT, the Hyper SSR, were showcased to local users. GAC AION became the first carmaker in Hong Kong to establish over 300 1,000V ultra-fast charging piles, addressing energy replenishment challenges and revolutionizing the local commuting experience for users. Furthermore, the company is set to establish six sales and service centers along with brand’s direct-operated stores in Hong Kong this year.

GAC AION is strategically advancing its global footprint and innovation initiatives. In Sept. 2023, the AION Y Plus hit the market in Thailand, followed by GAC AION's entry into the Cambodian market in December 2023. Looking ahead, the company plans to establish global production and sales bases in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.

A noteworthy achievement on Jan. 31, 2024 was the completion and commencement of operations at GAC AION's Rapow Intelligent Ecological Electric Drive Factory. At the same time, GAC AION’s Quark Electric Drive technology-powered M25 Super Electric Drive product entered mass production stage.

With a total investment of 2.16 billion yuan and spanning 104,000 square meters, the facility focuses on in-house R&D and industrialization of the IDU (Integrated Drive Unit) electric drive system and electronic control, achieving a fully integrated approach covering R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service. It is projected to produce 400,000 sets of IDU electric drive systems and 100,000 sets of GMC hybrid electromechanical coupling systems annually by 2025.
