ASMI New Materials' 10,000-ton Lithium-ion Battery Graphite Anode Material Continuous Automated Production Line Successfully Launched
Recently, ASMI New Materials Co., Ltd. in Hunan successfully launched the first phase of the project, which includes a production line and supporting facilities with a yearly capacity of 20,000 tons of anode materials. The first production line, a 10,000-ton continuous automated production line for anode materials, has been put into operation. The project has a total investment of 160 million yuan and covers an area of 18 acres. It is reported that the production line adopts a large-scale continuous coating carbonization rotary kiln, replacing the industry's commonly used production technology of multi-reactor coating + tunnel kiln carbonization for graphite anode material precursors. This change has reduced the production cost and energy consumption of precursor materials by 30%, as well as reduced the number of production workers by 50%. Furthermore, it has achieved the continuous and automated production process, all of which is controlled by a computer artificial intelligence control system.
