The first batch of units of the largest onshore wind power project in the world have been connected to the grid for power generation, with an annual electricity output of up to 36 billion kilowatt hours. Today (31st), the first batch of units of the Ulanqab Wind Power Base Phase I demonstration project, the largest onshore single-unit wind power project in the world, achieved grid-connected power generation, with an annual electricity output of up to 36 billion kilowatt hours, which will effectively promote local green economic development. The total installed capacity of the phase I project of the Ulanqab Wind Power Base, invested by State Power Investment Corporation, is 6 million kilowatts, located in the eastern part of Siziwang Banner, Ulanqab City, covering an area of over 2,000 square kilometers. The installed capacity of the first batch of units connected to the grid this time is 1.2 million kilowatts. After the project is fully put into operation, it can generate 18 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 15.3 million tons. (CCTV News)
