The first integrated demonstration project of city gas-hydrogen energy storage and blending in the country was put into operation on September 12 at the natural gas station of Pinghu City under the jurisdiction of Zhejiang Energy Group.
The project covers the entire industrial chain of green electricity hydrogenation, pipeline storage, natural gas blending, pipeline blending, hydrogen-containing natural gas separation and blended natural gas combustion, with a design natural gas blending ratio of 30%. Natural gas blending technology can not only store hydrogen energy on a large scale, but also reduce the carbon emission intensity of natural gas utilization process. Compared with the construction of pure hydrogen pipelines, the use of existing infrastructure can greatly reduce investment costs.
