Last week, the order volume in the wire and cable industry was mixed. Specifically, only orders from State Grid and new energy sectors supported stable production for companies, enabling them to maintain near full capacity. However, the outlook for other types of orders is not optimistic, with several companies reporting to SMM that their current order volume has declined by 20% to 30% compared to the same period last year.
According to SMM, some companies have resorted to implementing a "price-for-volume" sales strategy to maintain their order volume, reflecting intensifying competition in the industry. In addition, issues related to order payments and cash flow turnover have become a concern for some companies, with several indicating that they have abandoned multiple orders this year due to payment-related problems.
