Last week, the mainstream transaction prices for 182mm and 210mm monocrystalline silicon wafers in China were between 2.80-2.93 yuan/wafer and 3.77-4.07 yuan/wafer respectively. The domestic silicon wafer market has maintained stability.
Although the surge in silicon material prices lends some support to silicon wafer costs, there is a marked overstock issue in the silicon wafer sector, with July's production significantly surpassing that of battery wafers.
This scenario paints a less than rosy picture for future silicon wafer prices. As it stands, prices of best-quality wafer were holding steady, but prices for some lower-quality wafers have already started to decline.
