China’s Raw Coal Production And Coal Imports Both Grow In January -April

SHANGHAI, May 25 (SMM) - Raw coal production has grown steadily, and imports have continued to increase significantly.

According to statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to April 2023, enterprises above designated size nationwide produced 1.53 billion mt of raw coal, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%. In April, 380 million mt of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%, with an average daily output of 12.72 million mt.

From January to April 2023, China’s coal import totalled 140 million mt, up 88.8% YoY.
